Kalimpong Science Centre has been established in Kalimpong, one of the Hill Sub-Division of Darjeeling District in the year 2008, conceived, designed and developed by National Council of Science Museums (Ministry of Culture, Government of India). It is knowledge-based organization of high quality and dedication; engage in popularizing Science and Technology among the general masses particularly, in students. Kalimpong Science Centre was inaugurated on 2nd October’2008 by Shri B. L. Meena, IAS, and Honorable Admistrator-Darjeeling Gorkha Hill council.

28th Sept’2010: Essay Competition:


In this competition students from 8 schools in Kalimpong had participated. The competition was divided in groups according to their class. The total number of participants in the competition was 115 out of which the winners were as follows:
Group I
1st – Master Anish Raj Pradhan, St. Augustine School, Kalimpong
2nd – Miss Suveksha Rai, Saptashree Gyanpeeth, Kalimpong
3rd – Miss Sita Sharma, Ramlal Dahal High School, Kalimpong
4th – Miss Susmita Pradhan, Government high School, Kalimpong
5th – Miss Margarita Mangrati (St. Philomena’s School)

Group II
1st – Miss Dikila Bhutia, St. Philomena’s School, Kalimpong
2nd – Master Sanjay Rai, Government high School, Kalimpong
3rd – Master Siddhant Subba, St. Augustine School, Kalimpong
4th – Miss Moon Barman, Saptashree Gyanpeeth, Kalimpong
