Kalimpong Science Centre has been established in Kalimpong, one of the Hill Sub-Division of Darjeeling District in the year 2008, conceived, designed and developed by National Council of Science Museums (Ministry of Culture, Government of India). It is knowledge-based organization of high quality and dedication; engage in popularizing Science and Technology among the general masses particularly, in students. Kalimpong Science Centre was inaugurated on 2nd October’2008 by Shri B. L. Meena, IAS, and Honorable Admistrator-Darjeeling Gorkha Hill council.

20th May 2009: Extempore / Quiz with words/ Open House Quiz.



Schools that participated in this event were:
1.      Spring Dale Academy, Kalimpong.
2.      Mount Carmel, Kalimpong.
The competition was held between two Schools. The extempore was organized for students of class IX & X. Quiz with words or Scrambled words were organized for students of class VII. Open house Quiz was organized for the Audience in the hall.
The chief guest of the day was Mr. Kumar Bhusal (WBCS) Secretary, Branch Secretariat- Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council, Kalimpong.
The winners of the competition are as follows:
1st place for open house quiz – Mr Milan Tamang, Mount Carmel School, Kalimpong
1stplace for Instant Speech – Miss Persis Gurung, Mount Carmel School, Kalimpong
2nd place for Instant Speech – Mr. Milan Tamang, Mount Carmel School, Kalimpong
3rd place for Instant Speech – Mr. Mehaboob Ali, Spring Dale Academy, Kalimpong
And the winner for Quiz with words was Mount Caramel School, Kalimpong.
