Kalimpong Science Centre has been established in Kalimpong, one of the Hill Sub-Division of Darjeeling District in the year 2008, conceived, designed and developed by National Council of Science Museums (Ministry of Culture, Government of India). It is knowledge-based organization of high quality and dedication; engage in popularizing Science and Technology among the general masses particularly, in students. Kalimpong Science Centre was inaugurated on 2nd October’2008 by Shri B. L. Meena, IAS, and Honorable Admistrator-Darjeeling Gorkha Hill council.

1st July 2009: Doctor’s Day: Tree plantation & Health Awareness Program


On the occasion of Doctor’ Day the Centre had organized health awareness program in collaboration with Kalimpong Sub-Divisional Hospital and on the same day Centre organized tree plantation taking the local peoples of Deolo hills and they planted more than 200 trees with different varieties in Deolo area.
On the same Doctors from Kalimpong Sub-Divisional Hospital- Dr. S. L. Pradhan, MBBS, delivered lecture on the topic of “Diabetic” and Doctor from Kalimpong Municipality -Dr. S. D. Zimba, MBBS delivered lecture on the topic of Solid Waste Management.
More than 150 local peoples were present during lecture of invited guests.
At the end of the programs, Kalimpong Science Centre presented memento to Dr. Zimba and Dr. Pradhan with millions of thanks.
